Brain Works

“Brain Works” was the award design for Bestor Art Park, a City of San Jose Arts Commission and Bestor Neighborhood Community joint project. The neighborhood stake holders wanted tall artwork, with lighting, functioning as a landmark for the park. “Brain Works” was conceived to reflect the art community in San Jose represented by a single brain with energetic, revolving connections. The art is kinetic and is powered by solar panels incorporated into the design. Materials included recycled bottles, steel, stone, and metal spoons collected from the neighborhood.
